The title is necessary because it hailed in San Diego today for like 10 seconds..let’s just say it caused a freeway to close due to a large pile up of cars and my Instagram went HAM with hail pictures. Way to go San Diegans. Anyways, I have been in love with thigh high tights since I was in high school. My thick thighs, large calves and busty figure has always persuaded me to avoid thigh highs because they would never fit and make my thighs look like sausages. I braved my fears as I purchased thigh high tights from Walmart because they go all the way up to XXL. The fit is great, the only downside is the sticky part of the tights that are supposed to hold them up loses its grip after a few hours
I hope I can find a way to fix this problem and share it with all of you. If you are curvy fashionista/ in between style guru/ DIY clothing expert please share with me your secret to making thigh highs stay up when you don’t have the slimmest of thighs. I would love to buy more thigh highs in different variations like knits.
This outfit of the day features my new thigh high tights from Walmart ($6), the oversized knit BCBG sweater from Burlington ($20), studded loafers from Q’s in Fashion Valley ($20),shorts from Forever 21 ($20) and scarf from Express ($15). Total this outfit costed around 81 dollars. I think I have issues purchasing things over $20, the problems of being a penny pinching thrift shopper. Retail prices just seem so extreme when I can get a leather jacket for like $11 at a local second-hand store.

Those thigh highs look great you on. Maybe you could use double side tape to hold them up.
Thanks! I will have to try it. I am determine to make them stay up.
you can order! it stays body adhesive 2oz
I think the best way to go is actual full tights that have mock sock/mid thigh “design” on them. I’ve tried actual thigh tights before and the buggers either pinch my legs too much or slide off. I honestly believe there no freaking way (unless you go suspender belt route) they’ll stay up on legs that are thicker than toothpicks.
Love the slouchy sweater and shorts look!
