Tonight concludes my adventure with Fashion Week San Diego. Plus size fashion by A’doreaus, creative evening wear from Andre Soriano and Kenneth Barlis, and accessories by Love is a Devil made the crowd giddy with excitement. It was a great turnout, San Diego’s press and media were able to make it out for the big event, along with the San Diego and Los Angeles’ finest VIPs, bloggers, press and fashionistas.

The real stunners tonight were Kenneth Barlis and Andre Soriano. Barlis was able to surprise everyone with whimsical gowns, whereas Soriano shocked with 50′s inspired flare.
As much as I would have loved to be watching the show, I opted for helping out with it. I got to see a whole nother side to fashion that many fashion bloggers and people don’t get to see. That includes the production, set up, decoration, backstage prepping, security, melt downs and tantrums. It was a roller coaster of emotions. But nonetheless, a FANTASTIC experience. I originally got involved, not because of my blog, but because of my career. I am studying public relations and had just purchased Crosby Noricks’ (from PR Couture) book “Ready to Launch: The PR Couture Guide to Breaking into Fashion PR: Transform your passion for fashion into a successful career,” and she advises getting a taste of working a fashion show to test your passion in the industry. Â It was a rush, and boy did I like it.
I even made some new friends, you can’t go wrong with new friends. I also got to meet a fellow San Diego blogger that I have followed since my first few months blogging. Lisa Linh, of LipstickLace&Lattes came to view the show. Check out the girls’ blog, they are a great team and a fabulous one at that.
The intermission performer, Spags, was fantastic. They are edgy meets classic with a sprinkle of hip hop.
My favorite gown for the night was Soriano’s black evening gown he previewed at the VIP Meet-n-Greet even on Friday.
Overall, a great event and a great night. The after party at the Hard Rock was hoppin all night. I even managed to score some free Activate water and Luna bars.
