DIY Teeth Whitener; What Does Your Teeth Say About You?

I once had a friend who was obsessed with her teeth, as well as everyone else’s teeth.  Since Junior high, the first thing she noticed on a person was their pearly whites, or more like their dingy yellows.  She had braces and invested tons of money into teeth whitening kits, which only made her very aware of how others treated their teeth.  She would turn down men and judge other girls based on the shade of their teeth.

Today, I was waiting in the parking lot of my brother’s high school to pick him up and I had a lot of time to stare at myself in the visor mirror.  After squeezing the blackheads on my nose I moved on to inspecting my teeth.

I am sad to say that after the removal of my braces back in 2010, my teeth have not been taken care of as well as I could have been doing.   So immediately, I went home to find a DIY teeth whitener.

Be sure to use Baking Soda and not Baking Powder

Viva Woman suggests mixing baking soda into your toothpaste. So I will brush my teeth morning and night with baking soda and update you on my whitening progress.

ugh

Update: I did not see much of a difference. I suggest using Crest White Strips once a week. They make my teeth very sensitive which is why once a week is easiest for me. Don’t forget about good oral hygiene!

  1. I used to watch people’s teeth all the time. You won’t believe how surprising it was to see a lot of people with stained teeth (seattle coffee drinkers). I used Crest from Target every 6 months and very happy with the results. They are amazing.
